Action for Men

The PCT is keen to help behaviourally gay men (men who have sex with men) achieve the sex they want in a healthy way. Our goal is that men are aware of safer sex techniques and the effects of sexually transmitted infections including HIV.

Action for Men is a men’s health project supporting the sexual and mental health needs of behaviourally gay men. It focuses on HIV protection.

The project works across north Essex on behalf of the health organisations that fund them and alongside partners such as:

Action for Men actively encourages men to get vaccinated against Hepatitis A and B, have regular sexual health examinations and HIV tests. Rapid HIV testing is available by phoning 07798 608106.

There is a 24/7 confidential helpline where behaviourally gay men can get advice and help on 07798 608106. You can also email Action for Men at action4men@westessexpct.nhs.uk

Action for Men also works with sexual health clinics that can provide help, advice and support to behaviourally gay men.
